Several years ago, when I was still a college student, I was deeply fascinated by street culture, influenced by numerous rappers and celebrities, sparking a strong interest in the fashion world. In my teens., like many young people, I had a passion for streetwear brands and sneakers. However, due to financial constraints, I had to work to save money to afford them. This experience deepened my fascination with the fashion industry.
An unexpected opportunity arose when I was granted a chance to attend Paris Fashion Week. This experience completely immersed me in the industry, where each designer communicated their thoughts and perspectives through their unique creations—an incredibly cool phenomenon that inspired me to pursue a career as a fashion designer. Motivated by this, I embarked on establishing my own clothing brand in my home country.
Despite having a family business with a large leather factory and clothing manufacturing facility, I soon realized that entering the fashion industry was not as straightforward as I had imagined. During the manufacturing process, I encountered various challenges, and the initial six-month production cycle resulted in products that fell short of expectations. These products could hardly be labeled as such—they appeared more like unfinished prototypes, leaving me disheartened.
Undeterred, I delved into every aspect of clothing production, learning hands-on from factory workers. Converting design concepts into actual products proved to be the most challenging part, as many designs couldn't seamlessly translate into finished products. Seeking guidance from the factory staff and meticulously studying each production stage, I gradually unraveled the mysteries of product manufacturing and eventually formed my own team.
Through continuous experimentation, I successfully completed my first season of fashion products, achieving significant success in China and securing a spot on the list of emerging designers on Chinese e-commerce platforms. Five years later, desiring more advanced designs, I sold my brand and began a new venture with aspirations to showcase my work at Paris or London Fashion Week.
Around the same time, I befriended a recent graduate in London who faced challenges in establishing his own brand. There are almost no factories willing to take on small-batch orders for his complex styles, and even if they do, the prices exceed the budget. I decided to give a hand. Starting with his design inspirations, we discussed the feasibility of each design, chose fabrics, and customized accessories like zippers and labels. These were challenging or expensive tasks for him, but for me, with supplier resources in China, Italy, and Japan, it became straightforward to obtain high-quality products at the most favorable prices. Leveraging a highly efficient team, we swiftly brought his products to market. Now, his brand has made significant strides.
He appreciated for my assistance, saying that even surpassed the professional companies he had consulted. He asked me why I hadn't leveraged my strengths to help more beginners, and thus, CanvasWhisper was born. Being a designer myself, I understand what emerging designers truly need. Moreover, while China is an excellent production hub, it is challenging for Europeans to find reliable suppliers, often risking deception or receiving subpar products, where CanvasWhisper can help.
Above all, is the whole story of CanvasWhisper. We treasure the inspiration and the passion of every designer, and wish you every succeed.
All the best
